  42.     We have. The Breadboard (tm) by Prevue Technologies.  Installation
  43. was a bear. The card itself doesn't fit in the 4000's card slot very well
  44. in fact it has popped out a couple of times. Some else I know has one and 
  45. went so far as drill a couple of new holes in the pc-board to remount the
  46. BNC connectors. 
  47.     Actual connections to the Toaster consist of a pair of ribbon cables
  48. one of the headers is easy to reach, right on the edge of the Toaster card
  49. the other is actually buried between the two pieces of the card, forcing
  50. you to take the Toaster apart (I never did figure out where to put the
  51. spring back). 
  52.     As far as operation goes the card takes whatever is in the alpha
  53. buffer and uses that to generate the key cut signal. Thus you can only 
  54. key key pages.  
  55.     The card also provides three channels of signal delay (though one 
  56. of these is used for the key signal). The two free channels can be set 
  57. to any of the inputs, key fill, or preview out. There are also dedicated
  58. program and preview outputs. All outputs are sent through a linear amp
  59. with adjustable gain. 
  60.     Because we have the studio cameras show up at both the Toaster and
  61. the EchoLab (MVS-5 composite) and because the EchoLab doesn't have loop 
  62. outs on it's inputs the cameras go to the Toaster first. The problem is 
  63. unless the Toaster is on the cameras' signals can't make it to the EchoLab.
  64. Of course this is not a problem in everyday operations as no one does 
  65. anything without graphics even if it's just a slate. But if the Toaster ever
  66. went down, hard it would take the cameras with it. Oh, well thats what patch
  67. bays are for.
